Abstract

In this report, a new feeding method of circular array antenna is proposed to generate the orbital angular momentum (OAM) wave with reconfigurable mode. On the basis of traditional series feed network, a new current distribution and impedance matching method is presented. It makes the series feed network structure symmetry, so no matter from which end of the series feed network as the input port has same current distribution and input impedance, but from a different port can produce two orthogonal OAM wave. According to the proposed method, a circular array antenna operating at 4.85 GHz is successfully designed to generate ±1 mode reconfigurable OAM waves.
