Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the preparedness of inner London Accident and Emergency (A & E) departments in the event of a major chemical incident. The dimensions of preparedness studied were procedures, facilities and equipment, protective clothing, knowledge, and attitudes towards chemical incidents. A review of the relevant literature will be published in issue 6/3 of this journal, July 1998.
