Abstract

AbstractThe optimal control of a nuclear reactor system with a single group of delayed neutrons is studied by applying a numerical method based on the expansion of the unknown functions in Chebyshev series. It is shown how the given system dynamics, the initial and final conditions and the performance index are replaced by certain approximate versions. Several practical cases are given in which different control strategies are considered.
