Abstract

Abstract The Bronte Society has been presented with the handwritten manuscript of the fourth number (second series) of the “Young Gentleman's Magazine” written by Charlotte Bronte 111 years ago at the age of fourteen.The gift is from Miss Charlotte Bronte Nicholl, and has been made through the medium of Mr. Frederick Wardle, a Bath lawyer, who at one time was Assistant Solicitor to the West Riding County Council. Miss Nicholl is a relative of Charlotte's husband, Arthur Bell Nicholls.
