Abstract
Abstract The displacement of Brewster's angle towards lower incidence angles when roughness appears can provide a good means of characterizing dielectric rough surfaces. A new approximate theory clearly exhibits this displacement and, for shallow rough surfaces, agrees with computations based on a rigorous integral theory.
