Abstract
A homogeneous Markov chain on a countable state space can be classified as ergodic, geometrically ergodic, or strongly ergodic. Ergodicity and strong ergodicity have been characterized using the δ-coefficient. In this paper the δ-coefficient is used to characterize geometric ergodicity.
