Abstract

Using a characteristics definition of financial product and market, the impact of regulatory changes on British financial markets is analysed in a characteristics framework, with special emphasis on the demand side. It is argued that by employing a characteristics approach of the sort developed here, it is possible to evaluate the effects of key parameter changes in financial markets. Avenues for further research are discussed.
