Abstract

We observed temperature and absolute humidity by fixed-point observation. In addition, the influence of the covering state of the ground on the urban climate from the viewpoint of the sky view factor and the artificial coverage factor was also examined. The principal results of this study are as follows: A heat island phenomenon occurs in Yamaguchi city and the maximum intensity of the heat island in summer and winter are 2.6˚C and 2.4˚C, respectively. In the urban area, compared with the rural area, absolute humidity was a low 0.9g/m3 at the maximum. It also became clear that a dryness phenomenon occurs in the urban area. There was a positive correlation between temperature and the artificial coverage factor, and a negative correlation between temperature and the sky view factor. It became clear that the effect of the sky view factor was almost the same in winter as in summer, and that the effect of the artificial coverage factor was large in summer but small in winter.
