Abstract

the uninterrupted sensing of a large remote area is the prime requirement in order to control the unlawful activities. Wildlife and forest protection using large area wireless sensor network is one of the remote sensing application. The well-known unlawful activities are poaching, human-tiger conflicts and prohibited entries in the forests. The concept of uninterrupted monitoring implements a technical blend of sensing, processing and communication. The sensing, processing and communication composed in a single unit defined as sensor nodes. In succession these sensor nodes forms a network accomplished for uninterrupted sensing over large areas of forest. The challenging parts to accomplish such a large network of sensor nodes in remote area and data retrieve at the base station. The deployment of sensor nodes and optimize sensing and communication range is also a challenging issue. This paper is targeting a remote sensing application based deployment of the large area wireless sensor network and data retrieval for remote sensing of the forests.
