Abstract
A case of Takayasu's arteritis with multiple aneurysms is reported. A 34-year-old woman was found to have an abdominal tumor incidentally by ultrasonography during pregnancy. The abdominal aneurysm measured 6 cm in diameter and was resected after delivery. The pathologic sections of the aneurysmal wall revealed chronic inflammation due to Takayasu's arteritis. Involvement of branches of the aortic arch was not detected at that time. One year later, aneurysms of the right subclavian and vertebral arteries were found during follow-up. They were successfully managed surgically and pathologic examination of the specimens showed similar changes to the previous one. Stenotic lesions are predominant and aneurysm is infrequent in Takayasu's arteritis. A brief review of the literature is given.
