Abstract

Transverse testicular ectopia (TTE) associated with persistent müllerian duct (PMD) is a rare genitourinary anomaly. The authors report a case with a review of the literature and stress the importance of careful physical examination and ultrasonography in making a correct preoperative diagnosis of TTE. One should be careful not to miss the tiny PMD structure at the operation. Transseptal orchidopexy is the surgical treatment of choice. J Pediatr Surg 36:1710-1712. Copyright © 2001 by W.B.
