Abstract

Transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) is increasingly recognized as a major complication of blood product transfusions. TRALI has been reported in all age groups receiving blood products for ailments including hematology/oncology conditions, bone marrow and solid organ transplantation, autoimmune disorders, and congenital heart diseases. However incidence of TRALI in a case of thalassemia is not known.1 We report a case of TRALI in 11-year-old girl with Eβ thalassemia.
