Abstract

Marble bone disease first described by Albers-Schonberg in 1904, is a rare general disorder of bone.Marked increase in density of skeletal tissue, anemia and hepatosplenomegary are the pathognomonic conditions generally associated with this lesion.Fracture and osteomyelitis in the maxilla and mandible are often induced by dental treatment.We experienced a case of maxillary osteomyelitis accompaied with marble bone disease in a 64 year old man.He died in spite of antibiotic therapy and three-times sequestrectomy.
