Abstract

AbstractBackgroundMasticatory muscle tendon–aponeurosis hyperplasia (MMTAH) is a condition in which the tendons and fascia of the masticatory muscles, including the masseter muscle, overgrow.Case presentationA 36‐year‐old male underwent orthognathic surgery to correct malocclusion with mandibular protrusion. A strong skeletal relapse was observed immediately after surgery. The patient was clinically diagnosed with MMTAH after examination.
