Abstract

Phyllodes tumors are fibroepithelial tumors which peculiar to the breast. Among of them, mamlignant phyllodes tumors are rare. This paper presents a case of malignant phyllodes tumor with a 30-year ailing period, together with a review of the literature. A 44-year-old female was admitted to the hospital because of a progressively enlarging which existed for 30 years on the left breast. It was diagnosed as benign-malignant borderline phyllodes tumor by aspiration biopsy cytology. Simple mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection was performed. Postoperative chemotherapy was done, because pathological diagnosis revealed malignant phyllodes tumor. As phyllodes tumors have a variety of morphology, histology, or biology, prudent studies are needed for making the diagnosis and performing therapies.
