Abstract

The figures illustrate the case of a pregnant woman with a fetus with lobar holoprosencephaly (HPE). She was referred to our center after a first-level midtrimester scan for a suspected diagnosis of corpus callosum agenesis. The karyotype with chromosomal microarray analysis showed no anomalies. We present the neurosonography images acquired at 21 and 26 weeks of gestation, which allow us to hypothesize the existence of lobar HPE. This diagnosis was challenging especially during the 21 weeks ultrasound, where the communications between the frontal horns was less evident.
