Abstract

We present a case of intraductal tubular adenocarcinoma (ITC) of the pancreas that developed extensive intratumoral calcification. Pre-contrast CT showed a well-defined pancreatic mass with high-attenuation areas scattered throughout the mass. The mass showed slight enhancement on contrast-enhanced CT. The mass was slightly hyperintense on T1-weighted MR images and slightly hypointense relative to normal pancreatic tissue on T2-weighted MR images. ITC should be considered as a differential diagnosis when an intraductal tumor with extensive intratumoral calcification is found, despite the low prevalence of intratumoral calcification in ITC of the pancreas.
