Abstract
We experienced a case of ileal duplication with ectopic gastric mucosa. A six-year-old boy who had been admitted with the complaints of abdominal pain and tarry stool was diagnosed to have a Meckel's diverticulum or a duplication of small intestine by the technetium scan study. Operative findings and postoperative histological examinations revealed the ileal duplication leading to the normal intestianl tract. This disease is extremely rare, and preoperative diagnosis is difficult. But the duplications containing ectopic gastric mucosa, as in this case, can be diagnosed by the technetium scan study.
