Abstract

A Case of Giant Extracranial Carotid Artery Aneurysm Extracranial carotid aneurysms are uncommon. Most patients remain asymptomatic. Local pain and a pulsating mass in the neck are the most frequently described symptoms. Most carotid artery aneurysms are caused by atherosclerosis, other common causes include trauma and infection. Surgical management of a 80-year-old female patient with a giant extracranial internal carotid artery aneurysm is presented in this report .
