Abstract
The report describes a HPA-la (Zw^a)-negative woman with thrombocytopenia and antibodies in serum and eluate from autologous platelets with an operational anti-HPA-la specificity. The results of the serological investigations were similar to the findings in most patients suffering from post-transfusion purpura. However, the present patient had no history of blood transfusion prior to the unset of purpura and the thrombocytopenia had persisted 6 months before splenectomy.
