Abstract

Odontomas are benign, slow growing, and nonaggressive tumors of the jaw whose exact etiology is unknown. Odontomes are usually asymptomatic, but sometimes they may interfere with the eruption of the associated tooth leading to an impaction. In this case report we present a case of a complex odontoma in which apparent eruption has occurred in the area of the left mandibular third molar region. This case report also illustrates the benefits of CBCT in terms of diagnosis and localization of odontomas with respective to the mandibular canal.
