Abstract

With increasing recognition of transgender and gender diverse (TGD) (We acknowledge that there are many terms used to describe TGD populations that include transgender, nonbinary, gender diverse, expansive, and nonconforming people. We use “transgender and gender diverse” as a term that we hope is inclusive and has been used in guidelines and literature supporting this population [1].) youth, professional organizations have developed clinical guidelines supporting the use of medical and surgical interventions in TGD children, adolescents, and young adults.
