Abstract

When on schedule, the United States Congress reauthorizes the existing child nutrition programs every 5 years. These child nutrition programs include the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs; the Child and Adult Care Food Program; Summer Food Service Program; Special Milk Program; Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program; Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC); and Farm to School grant program. The last reauthorization, the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA), was passed in 2010. Consequently, the aforementioned programs have not been updated in nearly a decade. E.
