Abstract

SummaryThis paper presents a method for the calculation of boundary layers with strong viscous inviscid interaction. The method differs from the classical methods for solving boundary layer equations through the use of an interactive boundary condition which replaces the usually prescribed pressure. This boundary condition describes how the outer potential flow reacts on the presence of the boundary layer. The method is demonstrated on two problems: i) a laminar boundary layer with a separation bubble, and ii) the laminar flow near the trailing edge of a flat plate.
