Abstract
The Power Plant Planning System (PPPS), a CAD system for the evaluation of the new energy conversion technologies, is developed as a 2-stage decision making system. The new system comprises 2 different models - a Plant Performance Evaluation model (PE model) and a Plant Competition model (PC model) - for planning power plant composition and performance evaluation. The models are operated interactively by using several commands, thus the planner can easily participate in the modelling and simulation processes. Examples obtained from applying the proposed system to a combined cycle integrated with a coal gasifier are shown and some interesting observations on future energy systems are drawn from this test case
