Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to bring out certain salient features of an $$M^{[X]}/G(a,b)/1$$ queueing model with the possibility of starting failure, repair, single vacation and additional service for faulty batch. This type of queueing model finds a wide range of applications in various production/manufacturing systems for rework of defective items. For this model, some important performance measures are obtained and the stability conditions are derived. Finally, numerical results of the proposed model are presented.
