Abstract
Advanced communication technologies has allowed the powerline communications (PLC) channel to be a transmission medium that enables the transferring of high-speed digital data over the classical electrical wires. In order to develop powerline transmission chains and simulate the performance of these advanced communication technologies, a broadband powerline channel model is required. This paper strives to widen the understanding of the broadband indoor powerline channel by proposing a method of thorough statistical study of it. A classification of PLC measured channels is realized, a PLC channel model is developed, and a PLC channel generator is proposed.
