Abstract

A brief survey of information resources for the researcher interested in the biotechnology/environmental science is presented. Several programs are highlighted including 3 USDA programs ‐ the National Agricultural Library, The National Biological Impact Assessment Program Bulletin Board System, and The Plant Genome Research Program. A description of 2 information centers ‐ The Institute for Biotechnology Information, and the British Library. International networks that are developing include the Microbial Strain Data Network and the International Resources on the Release of Organisms in the Environment. Descriptions of the systems are given and contact addresses and telephone numbers are provided.
