Abstract
Legal issues are examined in cases involving the use of a false identity to gather confidential information and the use of a false identity to gather nonconfidential information, as well as the failure to fully disclose one's true identity (without adopting a clearly false one) to gather either confidential or nonconfidential information. The law of deceit is examined, as are the realities of litigation and punitive damages. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
