Abstract

This paper will present a novel approach of geophysical data analysis and interpretation based on combination of imaging techniques with new types of sound attributes. These are extracted from the geophysical data through analysis of their frequency spectrum and applying specific format transformations. Using real examples the paper will show inedited applications of this approach in the field of hydrocarbon exploration. In particular, the paper will show how musical and rhythmic patterns can support detection and classification of important seismic signals, including gas filled channels, faults and stratigraphic features.
