Abstract
A new method for the solution of the forward problem in eddy current nondestructive evaluation is proposed. Based on a volume integral formulation the material defect is represented by a secondary current dipole distribution. The scattering by the surface of the tested specimen is taken into account by a Boundary Element Method. This combination leads to a fast calculation scheme for arbitrary shaped nonmagnetic isotropic conductors. Numerical simulation results are compared with public available benchmark data.
