Abstract

A blower-auger metering granular applicator is described that will accurately meter a variety of granules in the range of 10–20 lb/acre and distribute these granules in a 35-ft swath from the blower under wind conditions up to 2.5 mph. Higher velocity blowers would increase the distribution range and ability to operate under more adverse wind conditions. Granule fractionation in the air stream did not appear to be a very detrimental factor.
