Abstract
A method for eliminating harmonics in a mutilevel pulse-width modulated (PWM) inverter waveform using the staircase PWM method and the block-pulse functions is proposed. The set of systems of linear equations obtained replaces the system of nonlinear transcendental equations used in the Fourier analysis approach. An example is given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method.
