Jacques Barzun's elegance of phrasing which served so well his introduction of electronic music at first concert of ColumbiaPrinceton Electronic Music Center in May of 1961! Scratch Milton (or me) and you will find a strain going back to ancestors who basked in favors of Catherine Great-presumably at closest range that lady allowed. We also share in another farfetched relationship, as members of that tripartite pact of which Otto Luening is also a member, called the Columbia-Princeton Axis. We read about it in newspaper. Now you will remember what original Axis stood for....
