Abstract

A biocompatible Ti-based metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-125 (MIL stands for Materials of Institut Lavoisier) was explored as a potential pH-controlled drug delivery carrier which promoting drug release in acidic conditions without any tedious post-modification. The mechanism of the pH-responsive drug delivery was attributed to the different stability of MIL-125. Its good biocompatibility was further demonstrated by the in vitro results via MTT assay and confocal microscopy images.
