Abstract

The following is a reasonably complete bibliography of work done on mass terms in the past twenty years or so. There are some omissions; hopefully all of them are intentional, and follow these general guidelines. First, the ‘Linguistic’ group is purposefully slight — I have included only those works I think have direct bearing on some philosophical problems. Second, while there are a number of works on the notion of a sortal in which there is normally some discussion of mass terms, unless the discussion is lengthy or central, I have not included these references. The same could be said for works on the notions of identity, change, matter, individuals, individuation, particulars, etc. Third, I have not bothered to completely specify all the points of a long work where mass terms are discussed. E.g., in Word and Object mass terms are discussed at more places than I have cited.
