Abstract

A sparse delay technique on Memory Polynomial (MP) model of Power Amplifiers (PAs) is presented in this paper. A filter with variable delay taps, which is called an Adaptive Delay Filter (ADF) [1]-[3], is required. It is especially useful to modeling the sparse impulse response system with few elements [4]. Also, the speed of identifying PAs with MP models can be improved by the technique, if they are sparse delay systems. A Mean-Squared Error (MSE) surface is analyzed to determine the delay taps. Simulation results of the technique and the conventional approach using Least-Mean-Square (LMS) [9] algorithm are also compared here.
