Abstract

Across the world, companies and countries are conducting various researches and developing technologies for energy saving due to the environmental issue of the Earth. Under the circumstances, this research aimed to establish the basic database to find the suitable location of the sensor and verify its performance after comparing and analyzing the measured values depending on the location of the sensor, based on the research on lighting control using the sensor to save electronic energy of buildings. In this regard, this research established the actual-scale test-bed and conducted the test to come up with the illuminance sensor for lighting control by establishing the artificial outdoor and light environment. The location of the illuminance sensor for lighting control was identified as the point that represented the average illuminance depending on the season. The conclusions are as follows 1) The point that was close to the value of the average illuminance was 2.5m, 2~3m and 2.5~3.5m from the window at the summer solstice, vernal/autumnal equinox and the winter solstice. 2)It was assessed appropriate to set the location to measure the illuminance for lighting control as the point of 2.5m away from the lighting windows at the winter solstice, the summer solstice and vernal/autumnal equinox based on the previously elicited results. This research aimed to identify the location to measure the illuminance for lighting control. It was conducted by limiting the season to the winter and summer solstice, the vernal/autumnal equinox with a full south aspect, which was considered as a limit to this research and it is required to conduct and complement the research with various variables in the futur.
