Abstract

Supportive and Palliative Care in Cancer is an introductory book written in response to the Calman-Hine report and National Health Service (NHS) Cancer Plan recommendations in the United Kingdom (UK). The recommendations included the improvement of care through a supportive and palliative care strategy providing guidance and services through a variety of NHS functions. Claud Regnard and Margaret Kindlen, both from St. Oswald’s Hospice, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, have written Supportive and Palliative Care in Cancer to provide a common core of information for health care workers entering this rapidly expanding sector of clinical services.
