Abstract

Based on the inverted microstrip gap waveguide (IMGW) technology and U-shaped resonant element, a narrow bandstop filter for millimeter-wave V-band is proposed in this paper. Firstly, we analyze the two-dimensional dispersion relationship of the high impedance surface periodic structure and simulate the transmission characteristics of the IMGW in the V-band. The return loss of the IMGW is less than 30 dB in the frequency band of 55 − 65 GHz. By using the −coupled U-shaped resonator structure on the inverted microstrip line, the filter with bandstop characteristics is designed. Finally, the narrow bandstop filter with a center frequency of 60 GHz is optimized by the well-known HFSS software. The insertion loss of the bandstop filter is up to 18 dB and the bandwidth is 0.57 GHz.
