Abstract

The author evaluates the fauna around Lake Balaton based on the Aculeata species collected over many decades. The number of species found is 962. This is 65 % of the Hungarian fauna. The fauna list is compiled based on the species found on the southern, northern and eastern coasts. Species of interest from a faunistic point of view are marked with an asterisk. It also lists the rarest species separately. It compares the fauna of the northern and southern coasts based on the percentage of the distribution and ecofaunistic characters of the species (Table 2-10).
