Abstract

Early last year, in keeping with the government s response to the Tomlinson Report, South Bank University was asked to submit proposals for an educational framework that would meet the needs of nurses affected by the transfer of services from secondary to acute settings. Developing such a course meant treading a fine line between embracing the forthcoming developments within primary care while retaining an awareness of the vital role played by existing primary care staff.
