Abstract
The following text is taken from a paper presented to the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Fall Conference in Ottawa, October 1971. In Ontario no discussion of oral testing is complete without some mention of the Department of Education’s Grade 1 3 Oral Testing Kit for French in 1966. This is where this speaker would like to begin, in order to show the logical development of thought which led some teachers in Ottawa a few years ago to begin group oral testing on structures.
