Abstract

Sources have been chosen from the IRAS point source catalogue which are associated with particular molecular clouds, in this case the Ophiuchus and Perseus clouds. The special relationship that the infrared cirrus detected by IRAS appears to have with these molecular clouds is discussed while the distribution of embedded sources shows that the number having a luminosity in the middle of the range appears to be relatively low.
