Abstract

Ultrasound-facilitated, catheter-directed fibrinolysis has been shown to increase peripheral pulmonary arterial blood volume distribution at 48 hours post-treatment as a mechanism for right ventricular (RV) recovery in intermediate risk pulmonary embolism (PE). The change in peripheral pulmonary blood volume distribution in patients receiving anticoagulation monotherapy remains unclear.
