Abstract

A 50-GeV muon storage ring has been designed using a racetrack configuration in order to maximize the percentage of stored muons converted into a directed neutrino beam. This design achieves ∼40% of the muon decays occurring in the production straight, assuming a production straight which is directed (downward) towards a detector located on the SLAC site. The design criteria and parameters of this ring are presented.
