Abstract
In this paper, important aspects of a 3D-FDTD algorithm are presented for the analysis of an active integrated antenna (AIA). As millimetre-wave frequencies have a small wavelength, active integrated antennas (AIAs) have a huge potential to exploit this. A successful CAD should be able to handle the non- linearities of the active elements as well as the radiation from the radiating structure. Overall successful circuit- antenna integration depends on the availability of accurate software package. The method chosen is the FD-TD as it is an established and flexible method that solves Maxwell's equations efficiently and accurately.
