Abstract

This paper presents a 3-bridge LLC resonant converter operating with a wide output voltage control range by using the morphing control for topology transitions caused by the change of converter’s operating modes. Morphing control between hysteresis bands of narrow is achieved via frequency modulation (FM) of the primary switching devices and by changing the duty of the switching devices involved in topology mode transition. As the converter transits from one operating mode to the other, the primary and secondary terminals of the two transformers are respectively connected in parallel or in series and enable to achieve a wide controllable output voltage (V o ~8V o ). The feasibility of the proposed converter is verified with experimental results of a 5kW prototype.
