Abstract

An aqueous sodium fluoride solution, a stannous fluoride solution, and an acidulated, phosphate-buffered sodium fluoride solution were tested—results of the study failed to demonstrate conclusively the superiority of any of the three agents. The group that received the aqueous solution, however, experienced consistently greater reductions in DMF and DF tooth and surface increments and greater protection was afforded newly erupted teeth.
