Abstract

A Cd-based metal organic framework (Cd-MOF), {Cd2[H(t-4-cpp)]2(bibp)2}n, was constructed using 2,4,6-tri(4-carboxylphenyl)pyridine [H3(t-4-cpp)] and 4,4'-bis(imidazolyl)biphenyl (bibp) through the solvothermal method. Its structure was characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Cd-MOF crystallizes in the triclinic system, P-1 space group and features a two-dimensional (2D) framework. The fluorescence quenching results showed that Cd-MOF can selectively and sensitively sense Fe3+ with a detection limit of 0.993 μM.
